Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
- All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Author Guidelines
Authors submitting manuscripts to the International Journal of Digital Economy and Law (IJDEL) should ensure that their work is original, academically rigorous, clearly written, and relevant to the journal’s aims and scope.
Types of Manuscripts
IJDEL welcomes the following types of submissions:

Original research articles;

Comparative legal studies;

Policy analysis;

Case notes or legislative comments;

Review articles;
-
Interdisciplinary studies on law, economics, technology, and policy;

Research notes or short analytical essays, where appropriate.
Manuscript Length
As a general guide:

Research articles: approximately 6,000–10,000 words;
-
Review articles: approximately 5,000–8,000 words;
-
Case notes, legislative comments, or policy briefs: approximately 3,000–6,000 words.
The word count may include footnotes, references, tables, and appendices unless otherwise specified by the editorial team.
Manuscript Structure
A manuscript should normally include:

Title;
-
Author name, affiliation, and contact information;
-
Abstract;
-
Keywords;
-
Introduction;
-
Main body of analysis;
-
Conclusion;
-
References or footnotes;
-
Acknowledgements, funding statement, and conflict of interest disclosure where applicable.
Title
The title should be concise, informative, and reflective of the article’s main contribution. Authors should avoid overly broad, vague, or promotional titles.
Abstract
The abstract should normally be between 150 and 250 words. It should clearly state the research problem, methodology or approach, main argument, key findings, and contribution of the article.
Keywords
Authors should provide 4–7 keywords that accurately describe the manuscript’s subject matter. Examples include: digital economy, artificial intelligence governance, data governance, digital assets, fintech regulation, platform economy, consumer protection, technology law, digital taxation, cybersecurity law, and cross-border business regulation.
Citation and References
Authors should use a consistent citation style throughout the manuscript. Legal and policy research may use footnotes where appropriate. All sources must be accurate, complete, and verifiable.
References should include sufficient bibliographic information, such as author name, title, journal/book/source, year of publication, volume, issue, page range, DOI or URL where available.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all citations and references.
Originality
Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not be under consideration by another journal at the same time. Authors should not submit work that has been previously published, unless the submission is a substantially revised version and this is clearly disclosed to the editorial team.
Ethical Requirements
Authors must comply with academic integrity and publication ethics standards. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, improper authorship, and misleading citation practices are prohibited.
Authors must disclose any funding, institutional support, conflict of interest, or use of artificial intelligence tools where relevant.
Peer Review
All submissions are subject to initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that pass the screening stage will be sent for double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
Authors should ensure that the submitted manuscript does not contain identifying information if the journal requires anonymized submission for peer review.
Formatting Requirements
Authors should submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word format where possible. The manuscript should be clearly formatted, readable, and suitable for peer review.
Recommended formatting:

Font: Times New Roman or another standard academic font;

Font size: 12 pt for main text;

Line spacing: 1.5 or double spacing;

Footnotes: 10 pt, single spacing;

Margins: standard academic margins;
-
Tables and figures: placed near the relevant text and numbered clearly.
Tables and Figures
Tables, figures, charts, and illustrations should be numbered and titled. Authors must provide source information and obtain permission where necessary. Visual materials should be clear, relevant, and suitable for publication.
Copyright and Permissions
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials. Submission of a manuscript indicates that the author has the necessary rights to publish the work and that the manuscript does not infringe third-party rights.
Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s Open Journal Systems platform. Authors must register or log in to submit a manuscript and follow the submission steps provided on the website.
The editorial office may contact authors for additional information, revisions, formatting changes, or ethical clarification during the review and publication process.

As part of the submission process, authors should confirm that:

Readers are encouraged to use IJDEL as a scholarly resource for research on digital economy, law, policy, and governance. The journal provides open access to its published content in order to support academic exchange and practical policy dialogue.
Readers may read, download, share, and cite published articles for academic and non-commercial purposes, subject to proper attribution and applicable copyright or licensing terms.
For Authors
Authors are invited to submit original research that contributes to the understanding of legal, economic, regulatory, and policy issues in the digital era. IJDEL particularly welcomes interdisciplinary, comparative, and policy-oriented research relevant to the United States, Asia-Pacific jurisdictions, and the global digital economy.
